The following groups, governments, and members of Congress have come out in opposition to the Recreational Fee Demonstration Program. In addition to this list, there are numerous unaffiliated individuals throughout the country who oppose the program.

Not all groups oppose the increased fees on National Parks, and most groups do not oppose fees for developed campgrounds, visitors centers, boat launches, etc., so long as the fee is specifically for the use of that facility. Each group, however, opposes the new, commercial, "pay-to-play," mentality of public lands recreation that has come with this program.

Groups marked with an asterisk (*) have only signed on to American Lands' Fiscal Year 2000 Appropriations Initiative. Among other things, this initiative includes a position against the Recreational Fee Demonstration Program. These groups have not taken a distinct position on Fee Demo. [* = 50 groups]
