Throughout the nation, there have been several attempts to derail Fee Demo through individual defense trials in various courts. These legal battles were fought at great cost to the individual defendants and their supporters. Fee Demo opponents have won n in some of these court decisions, but because the rulings were all in the lower courts, and because it was the defendant who was on trial rather than Fee Demo, these decisions affected only the individual defendant and the local implementation of Fee Demo within the particular forest in question. For these reasons, each small victory has failed to stop the nation-wide Fee Demo program.
Now you can really help the ongoing effort to put an end to Fee Demo by sending a donation of $1 (or more) to the Fee Demo Legal Challende Fund. Your donation will be used solely for the cost of filing fees, legal transcripts, and other court related expenses. There are no staff to be paid; all those participating in these two legal actions associated with the fund are donating their time and efforts. The success of these legal actions depend upon the success of this fund; the success of the fund depends entirely upon you.
